I am awake way too early, as I got woken by some delivery bastard at 7am and couldn’t get back to sleep, so today is going to be a challenge. Not what I needed on the day CASTLEVANIA Season 3 goes live! And we got the big hero image on the Netflix front page this time!

Inbox 18, I am mainlining espresso, it’s gonna be a long day.
Oof. One day til the show launches. Yesterday turned into hails of emails and documents and I couldn’t get on top of them for long enough to do actual writing, so today is going to be a bastard. Inbox 5 and I am fried.
According to my roll-out calendar, we have new key art popping up on IG today, and I think crossposting that is my one show thing today. And then we go live tomorrow, I schedule the announcement assets, and then turn every damn thing off aside from Buffer to load in the post-launch assets as they drop. (By “assets” I mean pictures, gifs, videos, created and branded and set in motion by our excellent partners at the NX marketing operation, who have been brilliant all the way through this thing.)
Looking forward to getting back to normal service.

Today has been about managing cancelled flights – I guess the corvid bug is scaring the airlines – and cancelling hotels, managing CASTLEVANIA S3 pre-launch elements and getting ready to bunker down post-launch. Inbox 14, watching the news. Apparently videoconferencing application stocks are shooting up. 51 confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK. I suspect the next few months are going to be difficult.
Five people die in car accidents in the UK every day, a number that does not affect whether or not people buy Zoom subscriptions.
Moving a little slowly today – there was a ton of overnight inbound to process. I have at least one phone conference today but frankly I’ve forgotten the list. Lots of little things getting done, while with my other hand I fart around with connecting possible ways to post more quickly/on the run to this site. (Which don’t work, I just discovered. Ah well.) Inbox 14, bit scattered today.
I’m up. Got to finish and send the newsletter. Inbox 8, things to do, and prepping for going dark after Season 3 goes live. Which means I am in fact shopping for new films, which I have to arrange to take possession of before the travel starts. The things to do include shaking out my travel bags and recovering and/or replacing items of travel kit – I’ve got three weeks to remember how to do all that before I start jumping over the water.
There’s going to be a significant amount of travel this year, I think. So I also have three weeks to get a little fitter and knock out or reduce some niggling physical issues. No such thing as a weekend here.
But I am going to curl up and re-read some of this book later today.
Five days out. I am about ready to crawl under a rock. I have a couple of days of phone interviews left to do and then I can crawl back under my rock. I have a huge stack of CDs to listen to and I may well go shopping for new films later. But today, writing the newsletter and doing development work on a project I know won’t go but it pleases me to write it.

Big phone conference on the other show today at 3, delivered my rewrite a day early so I’ve got today to get ahead on other stuff or possibly just lay here in a bleary heap because waking up was a struggle and it’s barely 3 degrees here. It’s snowing out here, and the wind chill has it down to -2. Which I realise, for many of you, is nothing, and you’re laughing at me for even considering it worth mentioning. But out here on the Thames Delta, the warmest and driest place in Britain, it’s a bit of a body shock this morning.
Inbox 16, and two phone interviews today, so I’m likely to be a bit absent from communications channels, and also possibly building a fire to keep the cats alive. At least, that’s what two very pissed off cats are telling me.
It is bastard cold outside, I had my monthly insomnia bout last night, and I have two phone interviews set for later, Inbox 27 which is Not Good, so basically I’m a zombie and Not Around today. MOAR COFFEEEE
Quick carb stop while also getting a two mile walk in. Inbox is some terrible number, I have phone interviews for the show scheduled and have to get two scripts out by end of week, so I’m jus enjoying the quiet time.
