Friday the 13th. It’s warm today. Thunderstorms on the way tonight. Hunting down my summer weight linen clothes. I should be outside – perfect day to tend the garden or head down to Old Leigh — but I threw my back out on Sunday and it still hasn’t settled back into place, and I just had a job drop a reschedule on me and about five other work things happened last night that I need to attend to straight away. So it’s a few hours at the keyboard and then, if I’m lucky, going out into the garden with the notebook and a chilled summer ale. I currently favour the Bird And Bees Summer Ale from Williams, which is as close as I’ve gotten to the Arkells Summer Ale me and my daughter discovered fifteen years ago. Which reminds me, I need to send her a case of Birds And Bees…
