Yesterday involved emptying, moving and refilling two compost bins, tearing out a mini-greenhouse, filling bags with garden debris, learning how to use an electric mini chainsaw, and spending two hours stuffing the resultant cuttings into a wood chipper and mulching pots and beds with the chips.
I had to do noise-cancelling earbuds for a lot of it, and listened to four podcasts during the day. The rest of the time, I just listened to the birds, who think it’s spring (it’s absolutely not) and danced around singing their little dinosaur hearts out.
Think about that for a second. Birds are actually dinosaurs. We share the world with tiny dinosaurs that sing when the sun comes out.
