2mar24

Signs of life on one of the apple trees I’d given up on. Background things that can’t be cleared, fixed and put in their proper place until the wind and rain start cooperating.

ON DECK: Technically, a rewrite day. May turn into a thinking day.
OPERATIONS: Need to process out my highlights from the Bresson book, print them off and paste them in the current notebook. I now have two working Kindles – one stays in the bedroom, one lives downstairs, they sync nicely, although I did receive this email the other day:

Starting this February, mobile network operators are in the process of phasing out their 3G networks. While we continue to take steps to support connectivity of your device, some prior generation Kindle devices may be impacted with suboptimal connectivity. You will still be able to access the Kindle store through Wi-Fi or enjoy previously downloaded content on your device.

Just as well I don’t travel these days – the 3G Whispersync has saved my sanity on more than one occasion.

LISTENING:

READING: finished BRESSON ON BRESSON last night, back to the Kubrick book
LAST WATCHED: WERNER HERZOG – RADICAL DREAMER
CONDITION: the cold snap and an overactive night brain has me falling asleep late and sleeping late. 8hrs 19mins, and the wind chill and damp are doing a number on my hands.
THINKING ABOUT: an interviewer speaking in the Bresson book: “Even in D. W. Griffiths’s time, the legend was that producers would get angry when a director filmed close-ups because they had paid for the entire actor.”
