Cutting away overgrowth yesterday, I discovered that the cape gooseberry plant I raised from seed last year and stuck in the dirt in spring is trying to set fruit. Unexpected and amazing. So I’m heading out there in a bit to cut away all the other growth that’s crowding it to see if I can let some more light and air in for it.
