Yesterday at this time I watched the local fearless squirrel stand up like a meerkat on the lawn and look at me before pop-hopping off in search of new things to dig up.

Sometimes the cat watches the squirrel dance and sprint around the garden, its tail drawing that wave in the air, and looks over his shoulder at me like, “Look. It’s that thing again. Watch it with me.”
