Finished the big consult doc yesterday. This week is five smaller pieces in five days to get myself close to back on track. I’ve got fragments of ideas gathering at the back of my head, and I suspect I have six hours in a notebook waiting for me this evening when I get out of the office.

(It’s now 3pm, so you can guess how poorly my brain is running today.)

Seeing a lot of people in my RSS announcing they’ve deleted various social media products. Usually to announce they’re on BlueSky or Substack Notes or whatever today’s one is. I am not on any of the new ones and just left the old ones by the side of the road. Some say these accounts should be deleted so you’re not part of the overall user count, but I honestly don’t care that much. And doing all that just to state you’re signing up someplace where they promise to wear slippers to kick you to death with so it doesn’t hurt so much… well, good luck.

Last night I was looking at digital sales systems. Not necessarily for myself, but to get a sense of the space. Where do you go if you want to sell a digital item for a dollar? Not Gumroad any more – they take 10% plus fifty cents on each transaction. So right away you’re only making forty cents on the dollar you’re charging. This is a space that’s going to need some easy solutions beyond crowdfunding soon, I think – specifically with comics in mind, having been told about Diamond Comics Distribution going into Chapter 11 bankruptcy recently. Which may take out a lot of small publishers and self-publishers.
