“I better get my summer weight clothes out tomorrow,” I said last night. Haha. I jinxed it. Cold, grey, windy and the air is filthy with allergens.
OPERATIONS: signed and filed paperwork already, approved a reprint project, need to copy-type some more handwritten notes, charging up the physical keyboard case for the iPad Pro because it’s very much that time now
STATUS: I was going to go for a walk to find fresh berries and break in some new boots but it’s grim enough out there that I’m going to continue catching up on work instead
READING: 100 ARTISTS’ MANIFESTOS
LISTENING: My Bandcamp listening queue has really backed up again and I’m trying to clear it today. Currently, this one:
LAST WATCHED: rewatch of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: DEAD RECKONING, which I still like less than I want to, if that makes sense. All the elements for it to work are there, but it remains oddly joyless somehow. In its scope and length there is a spark missing. Never put my finger on it, but it just doesn’t work as well for me as FALLOUT. All respect to Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote THE USUAL SUSPECTS.
MISSION CONTROL: I can be contacted via the Cheng Caplan Company. Link in masthead to join my free newsletter. Now: DESOLATION JONES: THE BIOHZARD EDITION, THE DEPARTMENT OF MIDNIGHT audio drama podcast, THE STORMWATCH COMPENDIUM. Forthcoming 2025: FELL: FERAL CITY new printing, THE AUTHORITY Compact Edition, The LIGHTS OUT Anthology.
