Apples is icumen in. I did around six hours of heavy garden work yesterday, putting in a ton of bare-root plants – the bulbs can wait til next week – and today I am somewhat achy. I had to turn a lot of compacted ground to get the lilies in, and ended up transporting seventy litres of compost. I have to chip a bunch of old cuttings today to make a new floor for the chicken coop, new chickens arrive tomorrow and Sunday I need to head out into the countryside for some stuff, all of which means I’m rapidly running out of time against deadlines.
