I have looked at your “outside world” and have decided I do not like it. It is time for good music.
ON DECK: Just got the first build of DEPARTMENT OF MIDNIGHT 104, and, glancing at the .wav, it appears to be almost five minutes longer than I expected. We always said this first series would be a learning experience, but it seems to be mostly me learning all the things I did wrong. We did 102 yesterday – now James is off to shoot some SLOW HORSES for a week or two, and then we do the last three episodes. (And I have to say, one of my favourite people in the tv adaptation of one of my favourite book series – that’s a real joy.) So today I’m listening through the build a couple of times and then getting back to scripting and letting the build marinate in the back of my head until I know what needs to be adjusted.
INBOX: 53. Avail all day.
READING: this Penman book on/around Fassbinder is fucking brilliant and I expect to write about it in the newsletter this weekend.
SHIPPING FORECAST: the structure of the Penman book has reminded me of some similar things I’ve tried in the past, which I think I need to try and fold back into the structure of things here, probably using the blogchain function.
