And sometimes I think, or am occasionally told, that the mix of stuff on here is confusing. LTD reflects my interests, and my work, and my days. It has, in my conception, gone “full channel.” (Or, at least, nudged ever closer to it.) That is, it’s just a list of whatever I’m doing and thinking from when I get up to when I go to bed. So, no, it’s not a music blog — it’s just me. This is how I choose to be present on the internet.
A lot of my day, of course, is listening to new music. Because I refuse to work and think without music.
I don’t pretend that I’m doing a music blog: LTD has no readership, no reach, cannot do the good work of spreading the word about wonderful new things. It’s just me here. But there is a hope that network effects will one day see you brought to a new sound you love because you tripped over an old post here, because I only post the things I love and it’s nice when someone else loves them too.
The days of personal blogs as any kind of cultural force are long gone, and they’re never coming back. LTD’s utility is in being the place where I log my days, and, you, reader, for whatever reason, can look over my shoulder.
