It’s MLK Day in the US, which is just as well, because I don’t have the last six pages of this script done to my liking yet. A little frost out there this morning, but I noted that the old magnolia I took out of the ground and put in a pot in an attempt to save the thing — it’s showing new shoots. There’s a fair chance I actually saved it. That was a good start to the day.
I had an email folder stuffed with 500 notifications from Bandcamp. Just deleted the lot. Probably missed out on some fine music by doing that, but a fresh start to the year seems wiser. That constant “there are 500 of these” in the email pane was distracting me.
I’ve also realised what I can do with the broken one-metre-square plastic raised bed structure I found in the garden last year, that’s missing a connector – fold it it, turn it into a right-angled triangle and place it in front of the pond in the corner. If I net it, I can use it to raise peppers.
ON DECK: murdering that script, then back to that full outline I’ve been working up, and a prose thing I want to play with.
INBOX: 79, but there’s a lot of shipping notifications in there, as I went bin-diving in Amazon last night.
LISTENING: ELYSIAN FIELDS, James Osland & Andrew Heath
READING: I’m across a few books right now.
LAST WATCHED: that Jason Statham PARKER film, for some reason. Some great actors in that film, though, and Taylor Hackford is smooth. Making a Parker film is always a thankless task, because you have to clear the hurdle of POINT BLANK.
I feel like I want to reinstate Today’s Ambient and Night Music.
