Winter feels like it’s arrived, and with it, a bunch of outdoor jobs I really don’t have time to do. New on the list is making a few bins’ worth of wood chips as flooring for the chicken coop, as the sudden heavy rains have made everything a bit boggy. The ground has become so solid after the dry hot summer that the top two inches of soil have just turned into sludge and underneath it’s still too hard for the water to move through easily to recharge the groundwater.
The temperature is about to take a hard drop, so beard-cutting season is over. The look this winter is “ghost of a demented sea captain.”
The main whiteboard is over-full. 7hrs sleep, inbox 87. Listening to CORPORATE SHAMANISM by The Volume Settings Folder and reading THE FALL, Albert Camus (UK) (US+).
