OPERATIONS: Filled a notebook last night, just strung a new one into the Passport this morning. Thumbnails in the overnight email to process. Trying to teach the printer how to print art pages in their intended size and and not filling an A4 sheet. How are printers still this bad?
STATUS: Happily splurged on that six-piece Imperial Valley CDr set. Which I wouldn’t have known about if I hadn’t revived my IG account a touch, weirdly. I suspect today will be neither productive nor communicative, and tonight I will be sorting seeds.
READING: THE NOTEBOOK, Roland Allen (UK) (US+)
LISTENING: Unclassified
THINKING ABOUT: something from Patrick Kindlon’s newsletter, which I read on its website a couple times a year, including yesterday, wherein I saw:
I believe there’s readers like me out there who want their books art-first and to-the-point. Music puts me around a lotta people who read comics in the early 00s but haven’t kept up. Everyone remembers BATTLE CHASERS. Everyone. It GRABBED young minds. And while I think there’s a place for more measured work, I don’t think this is the moment for it (even when I do it). I want BIG. I want visual.
MISSION CONTROL: I can be contacted via the Cheng Caplan Company. Link in masthead to join my free newsletter. Now: DESOLATION JONES: THE BIOHZARD EDITION, THE DEPARTMENT OF MIDNIGHT audio drama podcast, THE STORMWATCH COMPENDIUM. Forthcoming 2025: FELL: FERAL CITY new printing, THE AUTHORITY Compact Edition, The LIGHTS OUT Anthology.
