Back from a couple of days west of the Thames Delta to visit the kids. Did a four mile walk around Wakehurst Botanical Gardens, which was amazing. The rain hit just as we reached the hut by the big pond, so we sat there for fifteen minutes and watched the ducks while it passed.

A little while later, we reached the viewing platform over one of Wakehurst’s little valleys, and my daughter and I stood there for a while and we just listened to the birds and the water together in the stillness.
