Yesterday I got a complete script down in eleven hours. Today I need to do the same thing again and do my notes on remaining episodes of DEPT MIDNIGHT, so I can clear my weekend to produce more of another thing. After the last couple of months of chaos, I am very behind.
None of which stopped me from thinking briefly, last night, of that early “social media” period where you only “followed” people you knew, across messaging services and early person-focussed apps, and each day was punctuated by the clicks, pings and pops of people you knew across the world waking up in their timezones and signalling that they were up and around. Waves of ambient attention manifesting. That seemed to me to be both a useful and a wonderful thing, and it got taken away at some point.
