15 my arse. Local weather station says 13 and it feels like 10. Running the heater in the office in June so my hands don’t lock up. Happy Monday from out here in Permanent Winter.
Much to do this week – need to finish one job and start and finish another in the next seven days. Here we go.
ON DECK: I spent something over 12 hours in the chair on Saturday, getting down most of a first draft on the outline for a four-piece job and doing a complete first draft of the first piece. I read it on Sunday and it’s mostly bullshit. But all is not lost. Sometimes it’s like being a sculptor who has to 3D-print their own block of marble before they can start sculpting. I’ve now got the block of matter, and I can see the shape of the real thing inside it, and that’s today’s job.
INBOX: 68. I will probably not be best at email or messaging this week.
LISTENING: REQUIEM FOR A DYING ANIMAL. Horrible title.
READING: THE DOLL’S ALPHABET, Camilla Grudova
OUTSIDE: “The Writer’s Voices,” Nick Harkaway
