Rain, sleet, snow and hail in the same five-minute period. It’s finally grimly wintery out there. High winds returned overnight and took down one of the mini-greenhouses again, and it looks like I’m three days away from having a still enough day to go out there and mount repairs. I’ll have to chop firewood same day, as next week we’re in for another big temp drop. This is my last week to plant anything in the ground, as it will freeze by the weekend.
Last week, I said I wanted to get two things off my desk. By Sunday, I managed it. I was invited to pitch on something, and couldn’t settle on a single idea. so, because I’m me, by Sunday afternoon I’d written three. Job one is pasting those three into separate documents and sending them off.
But I just went outside again for five minutes to watch the snow.
ON DECK: DoM 104 patch to listen through and annotate. Full outline on that already-sold job without a codename to finish. Just been reminded I owe someone a light rewrite on something, which somehow didn’t make it to the boards, so I need to process the boards today too.
INBOX: 64, processing now
LISTENING: ACTIVATED SLUDGE, Ourobonic Plague
READING: Nearly done with the Marina Abramovic memoir.
CONDITION: 8hrs 27mins sleep and still sleepy. It was dark when I woke up, due to the weather, which didn’t help. Resting heart rate seems to be settling between 70 and 72. I’d like that under 70 by the end of the year.
OUTSIDE: you can never step in the same blog twice
