Coming up on 12 hours inside this BATMAN’S GRAVE document, just assembling the ending bit by bit. I hope to have it all in place by Friday. Basically, same again tomorrow.

I’ve lost this site’s automated connection to IG, which is actually kind of interesting. It’s making me think again about the sort of notebook I keep here. (And, yes, that’s how I think of this place – I don’t particularly conceive of it as A Public Presence For Pronouncement, just a public-facing notebook that talks to itself.) I need to figure out how else to use this.

Anyway. All is quiet on the Thames Delta, and I’m listening to the end of DROPSONDE. G’night.

I’m actually still going, but I’m shutting the internet off in a minute, and will crash as soon as I land the last thing for the night. Today has looked like:

got out a light rewrite of an outline, filed it
partway through a rewrite of another outline
partway through a PROJECT GENEVA module
daydreaming about a new comics publishing idea I had, that’s going to be my trunk-novel hobby for the rest of the year
notes on a long short story I want to write soon

(No, the new comics publishing idea will not happen, and I’m not going to mention it again, noting only that everyone should have a hobby and inventing new ideas and ways to show them is mine)

And the damn PROJECT GENEVA overview document is out the door. Two modules left to do, which I guess is tomorrow’s work. If I don’t just sleep all day. I’m kind of running on fumes now, and daydreaming about projects I won’t get to do, which is pleasant but not productive.

I got three of the five GENEVA module documents out the door today, while talking to Lordess a bit and half-watching the beautiful film THE WHISPERING STAR and listening to old Leyland Kirby/Caretaker stuff a lot. Tomorrow I have to get into the main GENEVA overview document, so it’s another day of broken focus because I have to jump around the document and figure out various parts of it. These bible-style documents are never clean writes for me, it’s always bumping between sections and expanding bit by bit. Pain in the arse.

wiped more things off the boards

Note the sheer glamour of this job. Basically a big emailing day, interspersed with staring at documents and scribbling down notes, which was annoying since I really needed the space to write. Also hampered by a longterm health issue flare in the afternoon. So tomorrow is writing, top to bottom. And meal planning, because I keep forgetting to eat and drink water. There may be more tedious photos of food just to log that I’m actually eating. Also, of course, I am generally failing to post here. Pfffft. Fresh start tomorrow. G’night.

So much for my “just going to sit here and think about work future and new ideas.” A bunch of stuff happened that I had to attend to immediately, and which will take up the next couple of days. Today looked like:

logline for GENEVA module rewritten/circulated
GENEVA overall update circulated

And probably some other stuff. We are closing at Inbox 6 and probably a lot of missed messages. Had Eliane Radigue on loop all day. G’night.

Several documents in front of me, none of them finished, and I have no idea where the day went. It looks like I sent around 20 emails. I will try again tomorrow, starting from scratch. It’s all we can do, right? G’night.

Honestly, I should have done a lot more, but my brain just wasn’t there today, and sometimes you have to say fuckit and move on to the next thing. Tomorrow, therefore, I have quite a bit to get through, and should not just sit here listening to several episodes of Ultima Thule Ambient Podcast in a row. My podcast lists are seriously backed up. Everything’s weird. G’night.

My mind is wandering. I’m listening to Klaus Schulze and thinking about the next phase of development on this site, while also marking up a style guide on a PROJECT GENEVA module and picking at ideas for the missing module (I have stories for four modules and there are five). Today looked a bit like:
