So I buried that magpie the other day – dug down till I hit the clay, laid the magpie in it, put compost on top, planted a peach tree on top of that, composted and backfilled and tamped. Woke up to the above today – an insane fox had mined through the lot, chopped off the peach tree’s root ball and scattered bits of rotten magpie everywhere. Have refilled and replanted the tree, but I suspect it will be dead by the weekend. Nice of him to lay the tree down so neatly there.
I have spent the hour since trying to get a document electronically signed and sent. It is chilly and rainy and I’m well behind on the day.
